The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (the "Global Fund") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of visitors to our website http://onemillion.theglobalfund.org (the "Website"). Any person that uses the Website (the "Visitor") or submits personal information (the "Member") acknowledges having read and agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, as it may be amended from time to time. Information Collection

This Privacy Policy explains the information automatically collected from a Visitor's computer or information submitted by a Visitor. The Website collects two categories of information: (i) general information, and (ii) personal information.

The Global Fund does not share or otherwise disclose any personally-identifiable information that may be collected, including names, e-mail addresses or postal codes. Only the staff and authorized agents of the Global Fund will have access to personally-identifiable information submitted by visitors to the Website.

Privacy of E-mail Lists

The Website maintains an e-mail list to keep visitors, supporters and other interested stakeholders informed about news and issues. Visitors may submit personal contact information to subscribe to the Website e-mail newsletter, but shall at all times have the option to unsubscribe from the Website e-mail list. Only the staff and authorized agents of the Global Fund will have access to the e-mail addresses on these lists.

Privacy of Children

The Global Fund does not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The Website is not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under the age of 13. Nevertheless, through fraud or deception, the Website may receive information regarding children under the age of 13. The notification and verification of any such instance shall result in the deletion of the information from our servers or the servers of our authorized agents. The Website incorporates industry-standard encryption technologies for the collection and transfer of data. Appropriate security measures are in place to protect against the loss or misuse of information collected by the Website.


The official, legally enforceable language of this document shall be English. Any question of interpretation shall be resolved based on the English version of this Privacy Policy and the Visitor agrees that this Privacy Policy be provided exclusively in the English language.

Disclosure of Information

The Global Fund reserves the right to disclose any Visitor or Member information, including personally identifiable information, when required by law or when necessary to investigate potential illegal activities such as fraud, or when otherwise necessary to protect the property, rights and safety of the Global Fund, Website Visitors or other third parties.

Dispute Settlement

Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or related to this Privacy Policy or the breach, termination or invalidity thereof or to any use of the Website by the Visitor or of the content available therein and the applicable licenses, shall be settled by arbitration in accordance with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Arbitration Rules. The Global Fund and the Visitor agree to be bound by the arbitration award rendered as a final adjudication. The appointment authority of such arbiter shall be the International Chamber of Commerce International Court of Arbitration. The number of arbitrators shall be one. The place of arbitration shall be Geneva, Switzerland. The language used in the arbitral proceedings shall be English.

Privileges and Immunities

Nothing in or related to this Privacy Policy may be construed as a waiver, express or implied, of the privileges and immunities accorded to the Global Fund under: (i) international law, including international customary law, any international conventions, treaties or agreements, (ii) any national laws including but not limited to the United States of America's International Organizations Immunities Act (22 United States Code 288), or (iii) under the Headquarters Agreement between the Global Fund and the Swiss Federal Council dated 13 December 2004.

Applicable law

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by the UNIDROIT Principles (2004).


The Global Fund may amend this Privacy Policy at any time, and such amendments will be effective immediately upon notice being provided to the Visitor. Notice may be provided on the Website itself, and after posting of the notice, the Visitor's continued use of the Website will be deemed as acceptance of the modified Privacy Policy, so please check this page from time to time.
